“Life is a canvas, and every journey becomes a brushstroke painting history, flavors, and creativity across the globe. Let’s create a masterpiece together!” (R.Sulaiman)

“Life’s too short for grown-up seriousness all the time. Embrace the silliness, savor the simple joys, and never lose the childlike sparkle in your eyes!” (R.Sulaiman)

Who Am I Now:

Hey there, fellow adventurers! I’m Reena Sulaiman, your sassy, globe-trotting introvert-turned-explorer—a lover, a dreamer, sunset chaser and a humanity enthusiast. Buckle up because I’m not just a traveler; I’m a master storyteller, and I’m here to whisk you away on a wild virtual journey through my extraordinary life. And that’s not all— I’m also here to learn from you all, from your travel experiences.

How It All Started:

I hail from the charming small town of Port Dickson in southwest Malaysia. My artistic father ignited the flames of creativity within me, and my journey began with coloring books as a tiny tot.But hold on tight, because things got real interesting when I was just 9 years old! That’s when I fell head over heels for ancient civilizations especially Egypt, Romans, and Greeks. My lofty dream? To be the next Indiana Jones—yep, I wanted to be an archaeologist! I was a pint-sized explorer yearning to break free from my small-town shackles and uncover history’s juicy secrets.

My Dream Destinations:

Egypt, with its mystical pyramids and enigmatic Sphinx, had me spellbound. Italy, a treasure trove of art, history, and culture, beckoned with open arms. Greece, the cradle of democracy and the birthplace of mythology, filled my dreams with ancient gods and epic adventures. These three lands became the stars of my wanderlust-fueled fantasies, and little did I know that destiny had big plans for me.

“La Dolce Vita: A Mediterranean Memoir of Love and Adventure”

Fast forward to age 16! A student exchange program by AFS Malaysia dangled a tantalizing opportunity before me. I applied, secretly thinking they’d never pick a kid from a public school in the middle of nowhere. But surprise, surprise! They did, and to one of my dream destinations —Italy! It was like the universe handed me a golden ticket, and my father had my back. Two electrifying months in Salerno, Italy, changed my life forever. I was thrown into a linguistic school, and languages became my guilty pleasure. Italian, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Greek, and Latin—I devoured them all! But Italian, oh boy, I devoured it like a plate of fresh pasta. That’s when the adventure really kicked off! A year after Italy, I got wind of a scholarship from the Italian embassy to dive deeper into Italian language and culture. It was supposed to be for university students and up, but did that stop me fresh out of high school? Heck no! I waltzed into the Italian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, where the ambassador’s jaw practically hit the floor. Why? Because in less than two months, I’d gone from an Italian newbie to a linguistic sensation. I snatched a 3-months scholarship, which got extended for a sweet year. Oh, but my journey didn’t stop at mastering Italian. Nope, not even close! I dived headfirst into the food and beverage industry as a service crew and kitchen chef helper at the ripe age of 18. And let me tell you, working with top-notch Italian chefs was like a culinary rollercoaster. I learned to craft homemade pasta and whip up sauces that exploded with flavor.

Sunny Skies and City Lights: My Life in the Lion City, Singapore !

Fast forward again. After A-levels, my plan to study in Cairo University , Egypt got shelved because life decided to throw me a curveball—my dad passed away. So, I took the reins of my family and my two younger sisters. I started working at Singapore Airlines, where I soared the skies for over five years, living it up in the vibrant heart of Singapore. But don’t be fooled—I didn’t just jet-set without a care in the world. While flying high, I managed to squeeze in some Psychology studies part-time. Yet, the travel bug had bitten hard, turning me into a bona fide rebel globe-trotter. Off-the-beaten-path and local spots became my playground. And let me tell you, my love for hiking and mountains soared to new heights. In fact, I even trekked through the Himalayan Mountains, getting as high as 3,800 meters. I was close to the Everest Base Camp, standing at an awe-inspiring 5,364 meters above sea level, although I didn’t have enough days to reach the actual base camp. Hiking and mountains captured my heart, and there was no turning back.

“Pearls of the Pacific: My Filipino Odyssey”

Later, I switched gears to the corporate world as a Client Services and Relationship Senior Manager for four and a half years, all while soaking up the sun in the gorgeous Philippines. And you know what? I didn’t just climb the corporate ladder; I went even higher by delving deeper into my passion for hiking and mountaineering. And here’s the kicker—I even partnered up to open a restaurant, cafe, and bar in the Philippines!

Now, here I stand, ready to spill the beans and share my wild tales. I’m not about to let go of my travel obsession, and my mission is to help you embark on your own adventures. Community service and volunteering? They’re in my DNA, and I’ll keep diving deep into history, arts, languages, travel, and food. Oh, and did I mention languages? Currently, I can hold my own in Malay, English, Indonesian, Tamil, Italian, and Spanish. I’m even dabbling in Filipino, though it’s a work in progress. Learning languages is just one colorful thread in the tapestry of my journey, and I can’t wait to take you along for the ride!
